Caudipteryx (Carnegie Collection by Safari)
This amazing Chinese dino-bird Caudipteryx is one of the newly released figures in the Carnegie Collection. This is super-detailed with a blue tail fan and wings. The figure stands on two legs and is rearing up so that the tail acts as a support. Because the actual animal is so small, this figure has been produced at a different scale to most of the other Carnegie figures.

Filed under: Carnegie, Safari, dinosaur, theropod — Tags: Carnegie, dinosaur, feathered, Oviraptor, Safari, toy — Marc (Horridus) @ 4:14 pm Rating 4.00 out of 5 Following on from the recent review of the Papo Oviraptor by a fellow blogger, let us look now at a radically different interpretation of the same dinosaur from the good folk at Safari. This is actually the second Oviraptor released as part of the Carnegie line; the original, released in 2005, featured less elaborate plumage with a simpler colour scheme and no tail fan. As such, many collectors like to envisage it as the female and this 2007 re-release as the male. It’s 1:10 scale, by the way, and about 15cm (6 inches) long. [...]
